【Device Papers】Asymmetric α/β-Ga₂O₃ hetero-phase junction for enhanced piezoelectric catalysis

      Researchers from the Sichuan University have published a dissertation titled "Asymmetric α/β-Ga₂O₃ hetero-phase junction for enhanced piezoelectric catalysis" in Chemical Communications.

Abstract

      This communication describes the design of a highly active prismatic Ga₂O₃ piezocatalyst. A unique α/β-Ga₂O₃ hetero-phase junction was formed by the temperature-induced transformation between α phase and β phase of Ga₂O₃, which could break the coordination symmetry and simultaneously change the energy band structure, leading to the boosted displacement current and electron transfer under ultrasoic vibration.
