Company Profile

      School of Integrated Circuit Science and Engineering of Tianjin University of Technology focuses on the entire industrial chain of integrated circuits. It has three first-level discipline master's degree programs in Electronic Science and Technology, Integrated Circuit Science and Engineering, and Information and Communication Engineering, as well as six undergraduate majors, among which there are two national first-class majors and three Tianjin Province first-class majors. The college boasts a strong faculty, with over 20 national and provincial-level talents. It also has established research platforms such as the Tianjin Key Laboratory and the Ministry of Education Engineering Research Center.

      The "Advanced Semiconductor Devices and Integration Technology Research Team" is led by Professor Zhao Jinshi, the dean of the School of Integrated Circuit Science and Engineering at Tianjin University of Technology. It is a high-level scientific research team dedicated to the research and development of cutting-edge semiconductor technologies. The main research directions of the team include advanced semiconductor storage devices, wide band gap semiconductor materials and devices, optoelectronic devices, as well as new energy devices and system integration technologies.

      Gallium Oxide (Ga₂O₃), as an ultra-wide band gap semiconductor (~4.9 eV), has advantages such as high breakdown field strength and low-cost preparation, and is suitable for high-voltage power devices, deep ultraviolet optoelectronic devices and electronics in extreme environments. The team's research focuses on material epitaxial growth, defect control and device design, breaking through bottlenecks such as thermal management and doping processes, and promoting their applications in new energy, aerospace and other fields.

Team Research Presentation

      · Research on Thick Film Epitaxy Technology of Large-Sized Gallium Oxide Semiconductor Materials

      This research focuses on the new generation of wide band gap semiconductor materials - Gallium Oxide, aiming to fabricate large-sized Gallium Oxide semiconductor materials through HVPE thick film epitaxy technology and develop high-performance optoelectronic and power devices based on this. With the advancement of the research, it is expected that the complete technical chain from the growth of Gallium Oxide materials, epitaxial processing to the final device manufacturing will be achieved.

      · Research on Compound Semiconductor Optical Chips

      The research direction of "compound semiconductor optical chips" of the research group, relying on the establishment of a joint laboratory through university-enterprise cooperation, focuses on INP-based compound semiconductor materials and engages in the research and development and industrialization of detector and laser chips. On this basis, actively carry out the design of new materials and the research and development of wavelength devices. The products have been widely used in gas detection, lidar, optical communication, quantum communication and other fields.

 

      · Research on Advanced Semiconductor Memory and Brain-Inspired Chips

      In response to the demand for "computing power" for processing massive information in the era of big data and new non-volatile memory materials and devices, research on the construction of key materials and devices for resistive memory based on non-charge storage technology will be carried out, with a focus on solving problems such as functional layer design and optimization, electrode engineering technology, and interface engineering technology, and building a new mechanism for low-power flashmemory devices. In combination with circuit design and the development of new memory devices, we will conduct simulation and emulation of neural synaptic devices and explore in-memory brain-inspired applications to lay the foundation for high-integration, low-power semiconductor memory devices and their applications.
