Precisely Targeting Market Needs and Filling the Ultra-High-Voltage Gap

As one of the few domestic companies with integrated device manufacturing (IDM) capabilities for fourth-generation semiconductor technologies, Orient Semi adopts a market-driven approach, aligning its R&D roadmap with real-world application demands. The company has successfully launched a portfolio of gallium oxide epitaxial materials and pre-commercial power device products. Its experimental Schottky Barrier Diode (SBD) series covers a wide voltage range, including 650 V, 1200 V, 1700 V, and up to 3300 V.

Notably, the company's 3300 V-class PN junction diode, developed for grid-level power systems and industrial inverter applications, addresses a critical gap in the domestic market for ultra-high-voltage, ultra-low-leakage power devices. This achievement marks a significant step forward in advancing gallium oxide technology from laboratory-scale validation toward practical engineering deployment.

Driving Cost Reduction and Reshaping Pricing Power in High-Power Materials

For years, the gallium oxide epitaxial wafer market has been heavily dependent on imports, with even 2-inch wafers priced at around RMB 30,000. Leveraging China's well-established alumina industry, abundant gallium resources, and the inherently high yield of liquid-phase gallium oxide growth technologies, Orient Semi has successfully established a pathway toward domestic large-scale production.

Through continuous innovation and manufacturing optimization, the company is working to strengthen China's position in the gallium oxide epitaxial materials supply chain and enhance domestic competitiveness in this emerging market. These efforts are expected to significantly reduce costs for downstream applications while accelerating the commercialization and broader adoption of gallium oxide power electronics.

This progress also signals a shift toward a more competitive and diversified pricing landscape for next-generation high-power semiconductor materials.

Collaborative Innovation: Building a Closed-Loop Ecosystem from Chip to Package to Application

Orient Semi recognizes that the advancement of fourth-generation semiconductors depends on deep collaboration across the entire value chain. Within the ecosystem fostered by the Asia Gallium Oxide Alliance (AGOA), the company actively works with upstream and downstream partners to accelerate technology commercialization.

Through strategic cooperation with industry partners, including Changjiang Optoelectronics Industrial Investment, Orient Semi is advancing the development of gallium oxide power chip packaging technologies and power module applications. At the same time, leveraging its domestic and international 6–8 inch pilot-line platforms, the company is focusing on improving epitaxial film quality and developing vertical Ga₂O₃ power devices with voltage ratings exceeding 3300 V.

By establishing a closed-loop ecosystem spanning chip development, advanced packaging, and end-use applications, Orient Semi is helping accelerate the deployment of gallium oxide technologies in high-value sectors such as electric vehicles, smart grids, and data centers.

Looking Ahead: Empowering Intelligent Upgrades Across Industries

The key advantages of gallium oxide lie in its potential for device miniaturization and high power density. Moving forward, Orient Semi will continue to uphold its commitment to technological leadership and practical innovation, while leveraging the Asia Gallium Oxide Alliance (AGOA) platform to deepen collaboration among industry, academia, research institutions, and end users.

The company remains focused on addressing critical challenges associated with high-voltage applications, particularly in thermal management and long-term reliability. By advancing competitive domestic power semiconductor solutions, Orient Semi aims to provide key technological support for strategic sectors such as renewable energy, aerospace, and next-generation power systems.

Together with industry partners, the company is committed to accelerating the commercialization of gallium oxide technologies and strengthening China's position within the global fourth-generation semiconductor value chain.
