On April 9, 2025, Shen Tao, chairman of the Asian Gallium Oxide Alliance, and Fei Xuemei, Secretary-General of the delegation came to the College of Integrated Circuit Science and Engineering and awarded the nameplate of the Asian Gallium Oxide Alliance member unit. At the same time, Associate Professor Mi Wei, director of the Department of Electronic Science and Technology of college, was appointed as a member of the Alliance Technical Expert Committee. The cooperation marks that the two sides will open deep integration in the fields of Gallium Oxide material research and development, talent training, industry, education and research collaborative innovation, and help China's wide band gap semiconductor industry to break through key technical bottlenecks.

Gallium Oxide (Ga₂O₃), as the representative of the fourth generation wide band gap semiconductor material, shows great application potential in the fields of new energy vehicles, smart grid, 5G communication due to its ultra-high voltage, low loss and high efficiency characteristics. The Asian Gallium Oxide Alliance, as the core platform to promote the development and industrialization of this technology in the Asia-Pacific region, gathers the resources of the world's top scientific research institutions and enterprises. With its deep accumulation in semiconductor device design, process integration and other fields, college has become an important partner of alliance in northern China.

Under the cooperation framework, the college and the alliance will deeply connect with the technical needs of the alliance member enterprises and innovate the "order-type" talent training model. Through the establishment of "Alliance Talent Pool", the communication channels between college and talent demand units are increased, and college helps the employment of graduate students and undergraduates.
